Samsung T260HD

Monday, March 3rd, 2008

It’s time again for one of those products which is both a lcd monitor, perfect for business, and also perfect for use as a HDTV and HD media screen. The Samsung T260HD is a 26-inch LCD screen released along with it’s 24-inch brother the Samsung T240, which both have a 1920×1080 pixel resolution which is perfect for full HD media content such as Blu-ray.

The T260HD and the T240 are from Samsung’s Syncmaster range under the “crystal design” styling and are aimed mostly as computer screens but feature some excellent specifications and features for gaming and HD media watching. The Syncmaster T240 has a 1920×1200 pixel resolution as does the Samsung Syncmaster T260HD, but the T260HD also features an internal digital tuner making it technically as HDTV.

Both the Samsung T260HD and T240 are very energy efficient and the T240 uses just 0.3 watts during standby mode. They have a very high dynamic contrast ratio of 20,000:1 and a fast 5ms response time and great media inputs such as USB 2.0 and HDMI.

The Samsung T260HD enables HDTV broadcast viewing from it’s internal digital tuner and has a very health selection of six inputs terminals, and has great media sounds by the use of SRS TruSurround XT. Direct 1:1 pixel mapping of a 1920×1080 pixel HD source without scaling for the best image quality possible, getting the very best out of HD.

We also hear other smaller sizes, 22, 20 and 19 inch monitors will also be available.

Samsung Syncmaster’s

  • T260HD - 26-inch - HD Tuner.
  • T240 - 24-inch.
  • T220 - 22-inch.
  • T200 - 20-inch.
  • T190 - 19-inch.

All are scheduled to be globally available from March this year. I will for sure be looking out for these, and especially the T260HD. Samsung Press

iPhone Stopwatch Good for 1,000 Hours. Period.

Monday, March 3rd, 2008

Ever wonder what happens if you push your iphone’s stopwatch feature to the limit? Me, neither. But that was a burning issue for at least one person, Travis "A College Education Is Obviously A Great Investment"  Taylor, who let the timer on his Love Brick run uninterrupted for more than 40 days to see what happens when it hits the magic 1,000-hour mark.

So as not to spoil the suspense of the video, we’ll just say the outcome rhymes with "duh thing."

hanging harry light pull

Most closets still have lights with pull strings attached instead of switches.  Well convert that old pull string into a hangman?s noose with the Hanging Harry Light Pull.  At the end of the rope is poor dead Harry, forever hanging by his neck and assisting you with turning on the lights. Morbid? Yes. Funny? Absolutely!

Asus Lamborghini ZX1 Smartphone

Monday, March 3rd, 2008

Most people know by now that Asus’ Lamborghini range of notebooks are extremely fast speed demons, just like their namesake on the asphalt. But what happens when you carry over the pedigree of Lamborghini over to a smartphone? • HSDPA 850/1900/2100 and quadband GSM/EDGE

  • VGA camera for video calling
  • 256MB ROM
  • 128MB RAM
  • microSD memory card slot

We don’t see much of Samsung’s laptops around these parts, and it doesn’t look like the P200 is headed Stateside either, but it’s certainly a solid entry into the ultraportable market — which seems to be the new hotness these days. The laptop has been circulating in the UK since February, but is finally “official” here at CeBIT. The P200 runs on “Intel’s latest” chips, up to the Core 2 Duo 9500, and integrated graphics come courtesy of ATI’s Radeon Xpress 1250, with the laptop wringing 3.1 hours of life out of those chips with a 6-cell battery. The 12.1-inch 1280 x 800 screen is no-gloss, and includes a built-in 1.3 megapixel webcam. The laptop also packs Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, Atheros Super G WiFi, 6-in-1 memory card reader, PCI Express card slot a whopping two USB ports. The whole kit weighs in at rather hefty-for-its-class 4.2 pounds, and is available in Europe today starting at € 999 ( $1,517 US).

USB mini digital camera

Monday, March 3rd, 2008

At present there is a great deal of different digital cameras that can easily meet any wishes. Quite a significant amount of them have as many functions as possible. But sometimes people want to possess something simpler and smaller, because often they don’t need to make photos that look like professional ones.

Imagine a tiny USB camera with no viewfinder, no LCD screen, and no buttons except one. Such a camera was designed by Sungwoo Park who decided to exclude all the functions except the main one. This gadget represents a mini USB digital camera that combines the feeling of not knowing how your shots turned out with the ease of USB transfer.

Thus, in comparison with usual digital cameras and cell phones no additional cables, card readers and so on are required. You just insert your camera into USB port. As regards the size of this concept it’s almost the same as that of a usual USB flash drive. Despite the fact that no information is given about the quality of the pictures taken by this camera we can conclude that it’s quite poor. It’s hardly possible to supply such a small device with all the elements that enable taking high quality pictures.

Taking into consideration all the facts mentioned above it should be emphasized that this gadget helps to make the process of photographing easier. Yet the only buyers of such USB digital cameras will be people who like compact things and do not need professional photos.

Samsung a737 about to get spectrum’d for AT&T

Monday, March 3rd, 2008

It’s crazy enough that AT&T offers Samsung’s a737 slider in four wild colors — red, lime, orange, and blue — but apparently, that’s not nearly enough. Who knew? We’ve heard that the phone is about to get done up in hot pink, electric blue, white, and purple, so just sit tight if you like the phone but didn’t like (inexplicably, may we add) any of the current color choices.

Powerstick: Emergency Power in a USB Stick for your Mobile Devices

Monday, March 3rd, 2008

Here is some more USB goodness for you. This time, it’s not a toy or some novelty that sits on your desk sucking small amounts of power out of your computer, but something with a great deal of utility. The Powerstick is a essentially a portable battery that charges up by plugging into any USB slot.

It can then in turn re-charge practically any mobile device, as long as there is an adapter available for it. So far, they (Powerstick) have adapters for things like cell phones (popular brands include: Sony Ericsson, LG, Nokia, Apple, blackberry, Samsung and Motorola), iPods and other devices that charge using mini-USB adapters (ex: Bluetooth headsets).

iPod nano coming in purple?

Monday, March 3rd, 2008

Filed under: Portable Audio, Portable Video

We’ve gotten a tip that there could be a new ipod nano color on the way — purple to be exact — due to a Circuit City circular ad distributed in Minneapolis this weekend. As far as exciting or even remotely interesting rumors go, this one falls about one space after dead last, and is most likely some kind of funkdafied CMYK mishap, or worse yet — the most boring Photoshop job in the world. Still, for all you serious iPod aficionados who simply must have the latest shade, perhaps your player will soon be awash in Grimace-colored tones that only the Hamburgler and Prince could truly love.

Update: Well you can rule out printing errors, thanks to tipsters Jack and Joe, we have some proof that the device in question is actually purple.

[Thanks, Tony T.]
