When I was in school, I always dreaded the thought of having to wear a uniform. Other schools in the state had adopted the idea, and our school district had discussed the possibility as well. I’m the kind of person who likes to express myself, so I don’t like being told that I must dress exactly like the next guy. Apparently there were a group of girls at a British high school that wanted to stand out a bit too. So much that they invented sunlight-reactive nail polish.
Normally nail polish is about the last thing that I would choose to write about, however, this is awesome because a bunch of teenagers created the stuff. Their school prohibits the wearing of any sort of makeup, which means that they aren’t even allowed to wear nail polish, because it would have to be removed before the next school day.
The girls developed a special type of nail polish that looks bright and colorful when exposed to the sunlight. However, once they go inside away from the sun’s rays, the polish simply fades away to clear. How awesome is that? Those teens should patent the stuff, they’d make a mint off girls in similar situations.
